Beef

What is special about beef from our farm?

Our steers are bred and born on our farm, Certified Organic, grass-fed, and grass-finished. We do not use confinement, antibiotics or hormones of any kind. Our animals roam green pastures from an early age on, full of grasses, clovers and herbs.

The beef is lean, yet tender and very flavorful. It is available from Mid October until December only. Steers are marketed directly to the end customer, either in halves or half of a half. Ground Beef is available year round in smaller quantities. A newsletter with order forms is published in September, but advanced orders are available with down payment.

You specify you cutting order, for which you are being charged separately by the processor. The price of the beef is $2.85/lb hanging weight plus the processing cost. A typical steer weighs about 1100lb. live. A half of a half would be 275 lb., which is about 150 lb. hanging weight, which ends up to be about 100lb. "take home meat".

Eggs

Why are our eggs superior?

In addition to being fed certified organic grains, our hens are year round free roaming. In the summer they follow the cows through our pasture system in a rolling hen house.

In the winter they have all day access to the outdoors and are free to roam. In addition to the grain they receive green hay.

Although we have a variety of breeds (Rhode Island Reds, Black Australorps, Buff Orpingtons, Partridge Rocks) they all lay brown eggs. We have also a few Araucanas ("Easter Egg Chicken") and you might be lucky enough to find one of their colorful (green/blue) eggs in your carton.

The eggs have dark yellow yolks and sell for $5.00/doz.

Enjoy!
